King’s Cafe

192 Augusta Avenue Toronto, ON M5T 2L6

This place is such a gem. Located in the hip, happening and cool Kensington Market, downtown Toronto, it’s a vegan Chinese restaurant that offers table service, takout and a little shop. Not only is Kensington a must visit place for it’s market foods, vintage shops and electric artisan spots, but as it sits on the edge of Chinatown, it’s just a short walk to the AGO(Art Gallery of Ontario), the Eaton Centre, Queen Street, and City Hall. So, it’s the perfect spot to start or end your busy day of shopping and sight seeing.

There are so many tasty veggie, tofu and faux meat dishes but I have to say I am obsessed with their hot and sour soup. Of course, it’s the perfect soup for a cold or rainy day, but I even ate it on a super hot day as I craved the flavours.

I visited this place many times and it was entirely possible to have different dishes every meal. Aside from the hot and sour soup, the peking duck, spicy eggplant, dumplings , and crispy mushrooms are worth trying.

Lots of seating for one to large parties and the staff are super kind and friendly.
