I highly recommend the Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos. Very thorough and informative exhibitions on the human rights violations and subsequent exodus of many Chilean citizens from 1973-1990.

The main commercial area is very small. only a few streets and it’s walking distance from the airport. So, most hotels and hostels offer a shuttle service to pick up you and your suitcases. If not, you can probably walk or at least take a cheap taxi…sometimes just a person with a car offering you a ride for a few bucks. It’s very casual here.
Day -7- 11, Let’s see some Moai’s! There are many packages and tour bundles offered on Viator and Get your Guide. I usually choose to mix it up and opt for tours and free days to explore at my own pace. Depending on how much money you want to spend or how scheduled you want your experience, tours are great to ensure you see every possible site and learn the history and mysteries of this fascinating island. The island is made up of a commercial area, main residential area, park, and forbidden area. The Moai’s are spread out all over the island with tourist access to those in the park.
Breakfast/lunch/dinner
Suggested Activities: 4 day tour, 2 day, full-day and half day tours with a guide and shuttle bus. Grab a map and rent a car, bike or walk to see the sites. If you need a break from the Moai’s, there are many water sports available. surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, and cultural shows every night.
