Best of Barcelona – Vegan/Vegetarian Brunch Spots

Asente CafΓ©  Carrer d’Elkano, 63, bajos, Distrito de Sants-MontjuΓ―c, 08004 Barcelona

Asante CafΓ© in Barcelona is a cozy vegan gem known for its incredible vegan eggs Benedict, dreamy cheesecakes, and a mix of sweet and savory delights. With friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s a must-visit spot for plant-based food lovers.

Faire Brunch C/ de Girona, 81, 08009 Barcelona

We finally went to this restaurant, and it was wonderful! They serve a few variations of eggs Benedict made with organic eggs. As well as tofu scramble, vegan bacon, pancakes, acai bowls, and toasts.

The decoration is fun as they use cassette tapes with the menu QR code and cassette tape covers to bring you the bill. They also have some vintage-style decor like record players and 70s-inspired furniture.

The service was multilingual, speedy, and friendly. We will definitely add this place to our list of regular restaurants!

Cafe Equilibrium C/ de ValΓ¨ncia, 352, L’Eixample, 08009 Barcelona

This is probably one of the most well known vegan breakfast spots for good reason. They do wonderful breakfast dishes with a really good traditional English breakfast. As well, even when it’s super busy, the staff are fast and friendly.

Green & Berry C. d’Enric Granados, 153, L’Eixample, 08008 Barcelona

This restaurant is on lots of my lists as they make so many great items. They have some wonderful breakfast and brunch items including tofu scramble, burritos, toasts and sweet items.

They have great coffee and a huge selection of fresh juices. Whether you’re looking for a juice with a shot of ginger or charcoal after a long night or green blend with kale and spirulina, this is the place!

Fika Brunch Carrer del Forn, 15, 08140 Caldes de Montbui, Barcelona

Voted the best potatoes every year by anyone who has tried them! Fika does an amazing seasoned take on potato bravas with three types of vegan dipping sauces.

They serve a nice selection of vegan/vegetarian items in a hip restaurant with great staff. As well they have excellent vegan cake options.

Fika is located in a small city outside of Barcelona. It’s worth the drive but it’s also near a quarry with walking trails and community gardens and an amazing spa with thermal pools.

I’m just saying you can go for brunch, but you might want to make a weekend of it.

Morgentau C/ de la Llacuna, 114, Sant MartΓ, 08018 Barcelona

This was one of our recent discoveries and now a new favorite. Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and great brunch options.

They have taken vegan brunch to the next level with creative twists on traditional dishes. Kimchi and pickled cauliflower with your omelette? Yes please!

Brunch and Cake C/ del RossellΓ³, 189, L’Eixample, 08036

This is another popular spot often with wait times to get a table. Great breakfast items and strangely, mysteriously some of the best chocolate chip cookies my family has ever had.

We stopped in one day for a coffee and tried the cookies. That was years ago and we still think about…often.

Billy Brunch – many locations

This is another great brunch restaurant with something for everyone. We tried the vegan pancakes, avocado toast and vegetarian eggs Benedict. Everything was good and arrived quickly.

The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. There are locations all over Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville. They don’t take reservations and in the past, we saw huge lineups. However, the day we went, we were seated right away.

Your place or mine!

Whether you live in Barcelona or you’re on vacation. There are great places to pick up all the fixings to make a truly epic breakfast or brunch for yourself or a whole group.

Spain is home to some great vegan cheese makers and artisan breads. Many shops and even supermarkets carry large selections of vegan meats, like fake ham and sausage. I even saw bacon the other day!

Peanut butter powder and oat flour pancakes with blueberries and cherries. Drizzled with agave syrup.

I am not the best chef, but I have perfected the fine art of Sunday morning pancakes. I use this recipe almost every time, but I add peanut butter powder to the oat flour. The pancakes are super tasty and fluffy, and the added protein powder makes them more nutritious.

So, if you can’t get into one of the breakfast spots or you’d rather have breakfast at home, check out these shops for the best vegan, plant-based brands.

Vegan shops that Carry Vegan Cheese and Meat, etc:

Veg&Friends PlaΓ§a d’AusiΓ s March, 0, Local-5, 08195 Sant Cugat del VallΓ¨s, Barcelona

Origo Bakery  Carrer de MilΓ  i Fontanals, 9, GrΓ cia, 08012 Barcelona

Turris Bakery – Many Locations

I’ll add to this list as I discover more brunch spots. I have a few on my list to try in different parts of the city and region. Let me know if you try any!
